Here's the local real estate stats for the end of May, 2010. Activity is way up from 180 units totalling $44,805,000 in 2009 to 273 units for $74,112,000 in 2010, so lots of sales so far. Average prices can now be fairly compared to last year, we've shown them below so you can see the trend so far this year. Average days on the market for single family homes has dropped from 78 days at this time last year to 68 for the same time period this year. Homes so far this year are selling for 97.8% of list compared to 96.9% last year. Overall, a very good start to 2010 with June already much busier than the same time last year. When you're reading or hearing about property selling prices in the media, always keep in mind that real estate is very much a local market situation, so stats for major cities or areas not near the North Peace won't have any relevance to our market. The stats we provide are for our market area only. We have stats for other types of sales as well, so for more information on our local market stats or real estate in general, please contact Kathy anytime.
